Alex Chan

Student trader sharing notes from his time in the markets: what’s working, what’s not, and what he’s learning. He’s not a licensed financial advisor, and nothing here is financial advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything.

Alex’s Trading Journey

I’m Alex Chan, a student prop firm trader who started trading with prop firms in March. I’ve received over $4000, but this site is purely for documenting my learning journey and should not be taken as financial advice.

Student investing experiments, never financial advice.

Practicing Position Sizing & Investing Any Amount as a Student

I use this space as a student to practice ideas like position sizing and investing different amounts, anywhere from a few dollars to larger sums, just to see how it feels. I’m trying to understand how professional advisors think about allocating money over time, weighing risk, time horizon, and personal goals along the way. Everything here is part of my own learning process. These are private study notes, not a product or service, and nothing here is guidance, a recommendation, or financial advice for anyone else.

Learning How Advisors Build Balanced, Diversified Portfolios

I’m using this site as a student lab to think through how balanced portfolios and diversification work in practice. I look at how different types of assets and risk levels might interact over time, and try to picture how that plays out for an investor. Everything here reflects my own study process and how my understanding is evolving as a learner. I’m not a licensed financial advisor, and I’m still learning how advisors actually think. Nothing on this site is financial advice, a recommendation, or a basis for making your own investment decisions.

Get in Touch

Reach out if you have a question or just want to say hi. I’m always glad to connect with other people who are learning. Just a quick reminder: I’m not a financial advisor and can’t give any kind of financial guidance.
